Home: A Sense of Space, A Sense of Place

Close to 50 alumnae attended the Alumnae Association’s symposium Home: A Sense of Space, A Sense of Place on campus in June.

New Orleans author Patty Friedmann ’68 was the keynote speaker for the event. In her talk, she spoke about being in the city during and after Hurricane Katrina and shared her own experiences in discovering that the community she thought was a “given” suddenly disappeared overnight.

Friedmann is the author of The Exact Image of Mother, Eleanor Rushing, Odds, and Secondhand Smoke, among other titles.

Her speech is available in audio format below.
