Book Discussion: Surviving Armageddon:
Solutions for a Threatened Planet
, Bill
McGuire

May 18 & 25, 2007

H. Robert Burger, Achilles Professor of Geology

“This provocative little book attempts to focus attention on what
are typically referred to in the disaster community as low frequency–
high consequence events. My view is that everyone should recognize the
reality of these threats so steps can be taken to cope with them. We’ll
explore the observations behind the author’s assertions and discuss what
steps are available to mitigate risk for the future.”
