he Alumnae Association of Smith College silk scarf, 35" x35", depicts whimsical scenes of Smith College campus in two versions, bright cranberry and brilliant blue (new as of 2008). The depiction is based on a pen & ink design from a Wedgwood charger, created in 1937, by an unknown artist. At the top left corner, is the original Smith College seal and inscription: EN THI APETHI THN ΓΝΩΣΙΝ - To Virtue Knowledge, and the year of the college founding, 1871. The floral border is taken from a design found in the Smith Rare Book collection.
