he Alumnae Association of Smith College scarf, 35" x35", depicts whimsical scenes of the Smith College campus in bright cranberry. The depiction is based on a design from a Wedgwood charger, created in 1937, by an unknown artist. At the top left corner, is the original Smith College seal and inscription: EN THI APETHI THN ΓΝΩΣΙΝ - To Virtue Knowledge, and the year of the college founding, 1871. The floral border is taken from a design found in the Smith Rare Book collection.
