Parking and Traffic Regulations

Parking is available in designated areas only, including the parking garage on West Street (Route 66). Cars may be left overnight on city streets, except in posted areas. All parking ordinances remain in effect for the city of Northampton, including parking meters. Neither the Alumnae Association nor the college is responsible for fines incurred for parking violations.

Accessible Parking

Visitors needing accessible parking may use any of the designated spaces on campus with a properly displayed state-issued plate or placard from any state. A map of the accessible spaces on campus can be obtained from Campus Police, or by clicking here.

On-Campus Shuttles

On-campus shuttles will be available to transport you to and from parking areas and student residences. Shuttles are for on-campus transportation only.

By Air

The major airport servicing the Northampton area is Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

By Train

Amtrak Train Station, 800-872-7245. New! Service to Northampton.

By Car

Take Interstate 91 from either north or south to exit 18 (Route 5). Turn left onto Route 5 north and continue to the intersection with Route 9 west (Main Street). Follow Main Street through the next set of lights; the Alumnae House is the second building on the right after St. Mary’s Church.

Taxi and Transportation Services

Transportation to Smith from the Amtrak Train Station, Boston or Hartford airports is available from a number of services. Advance reservations may be required.
