 Spanish, Italian, and indigenous
cultures make up the melting pot
that forms Argentina’s unique
heritage. Nowhere are European
influences more keenly felt than in
the cosmopolitan capital, Buenos
Aires, your first stop. You’ll travel
downtown to visit Plaza de Mayo,
the city’s elegant main square.
There you’ll view the Metropolitan
Cathedral and Casa Rosada,
Argentina’s presidential palace.
Leaving Buenos Aires you’ll head
to the Pampas grasslands to meet
contemporary gauchos on a working
ranch; and tour vineyards in
Mendoza, Argentina’s bucolic
wine-growing region. Finally, you’ll
cross the majestic Andes into Chile,
where you’ll explore the capital city
of Santiago. Dartmouth College is
co-sponsoring this program.
