Explore China’s vibrant contemporary art scene on a journey that will lead you from the metropolitan and modern to the rural and historic, taking in the best of China’s natural beauty—and the finest accommodations and cuisine— en route. Travels to Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Longsheng, and Yangshuo will underscore China’s immense regional diversity, as you explore ancient ruins, villages, and royal palaces, visit rice paddies, and marvel at 300-million-year-old karst limestone formations. You’ll end your journey with a visit to Shanghai, one of the fastest-changing cities in the world and the contemporary art mecca of the East, where you’ll visit the World Expo 2010. Optional extensions, pre-tour to Chengde and post-tour to Huang Mountains or Yangtze River Cruise, are available.
