evitalize your soul on this spectacular trip to one of the world’s greatest remaining natural areas.
Combining short hikes, boat trips, and snorkeling expeditions, this journey promises an up-close look at the stunning beauty and unique wildlife of this tropical archipelago. During lunch on your first day, you’ll sail on the intimate 80-passenger ship Polaris to Santa Cruz Island and explore the mangrove-flanked channel and shoreline of Cerro Dragon, looking for land iguanas and sea lions along the way. Throughout this trip, snorkeling and glass-bottom boating will provide the perfect vantage point for viewing the various sea life that inhabits the warm waters of the Galapagos. On the island of Isabela, you’ll walk the streets, visit local shops, and wade in nearby salt-water lagoons. The next morning, rise early to explore Punta Espinoza on Fernandina Island, the most pristine and youngest island in the Galapagos, where iguanas abound. Then it’s back to Isabela for an afternoon of spelunking and cruising the shoreline in search of whales, dolphins, sea turtles, and the elusive ocean sunfish, the mola-mola. After a stop on Genovesa, the most isolated island, it’s off to Bartolome/Santiago, where you’ll snorkel with penguins and enjoy the best tide pooling. Early the next day, you’ll disembark Polaris and fly to Quito, where you’ll have the entire day free to roam this colonial city before preparing for your journey home.
