Immerse yourself in the storied land of Morocco, with its unique mixture of European and North African influences and traditions. Interact with local people, prepare traditional dishes, and learn some basic Arabic. From the grand capital of Rabat, you will travel over land to the medieval city of Fez—often referred to as the intellectual heart of Morocco—and stay at a deluxe traditional guesthouse, or riad, built around a courtyard within Fez’s mythical walled medina. Continue for a grand finale in Marrakech, “the Pearl of the South,” at the base of the Atlas Mountains. Also available is an optional extension trip across the High Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate and Erfoud, at the edge of the Sahara.
