In response to President McCartney’s 2016-2017 Innovation Challenge: Advancing Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity, a series of on-campus retreats to foster connections between Smith students and alumnae of color will be held during the 2017-2018 academic year.

This program, Diverse Smithies: Connecting, Coaching, Celebrating, will be comprised of three, half-day retreats designed to educate and inspire Smith students in fostering inclusive communities, acting as allies for each other, celebrating the strength of our diverse community, and learning strategies for successfully navigating racism and bias at Smith and beyond.

Be part of this exciting series!  We are seeking alumnae of color who are eager to lead workshops for students in which they can make meaningful connections, reflect on what they have learned, and celebrate successes.

On-campus retreats will be held:

Spring Weekend – Celebrating in Collaborations with Smith College Women of Color Conference: Persistence, Possibilities and the Power of our Voices

Each Saturday retreat will end with a Traditional Smith Tea.

Submit your proposal  and ideas by 5pm Friday, April 21. Presenters will be selected and notified no later than Friday, June 2, 2017.  Selected volunteer presenters will be included in retreat promotions and will receive a complimentary registration to the conference.
