On March 26–27, more than 100 alumnae converged on campus for “Smith Women Mean Business,” a conference for alumnae business professionals. Panels and discussions touched on an array of topics, from ethics to the power of philanthropy to changing definitions of success. Eileen Fisher told alumnae that a key to success in business is following your instincts and building confidence rather than fear. Meanwhile, Shelly Lazarus ’68, chair of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, told alumnae looking to succeed in the business world to figure out “what you’re good at and then strengthen those strengths.”
