Science President McCartney: 'The Need for Liberal Arts Education Has Never Been Stronger'
On Saturday, October 19, 2013, more than 2,000 Smith College students, faculty, staff, alumnae and trustees joined delegates from colleges and universities around the world for the inauguration of Smith's 11th president, Kathleen McCartney. President McCartney spoke about the importance of renewal and change, the ongoing work needed for women’s equality and her commitment to "expanding Smith's power in the world."
