Mary Scott McElroy ’57 Inducted Into Athletic Hall of Fame
Involved in lacrosse, tennis, and field hockey at the Baldwin School, McElroy was one of five individuals inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2024. According to a statement, this honor is reserved for alum athletes or athletic professionals who exhibit exemplary character and reputation.

Associate Professor Maren Buck Gets Teacher-Scholar Award
As a 2024 recipient of the Henry Dreyfus award, Buck will receive an unrestricted research grant of $75,000. Her research concentrates on new strategies for preparing chemically fueled hydrogel actuators: smart materials that respond to external stimuli, according to the Royal Society of Chemistry.

June Almenoff ’78 Joins Actinium’s Board of Directors
In this new role, Almenoff brings more than 25 years of drug development and leadership experience to the table, according to a statement. Sandesh Seth, chairman and CEO of Actinium Pharmaceuticals, says, “Her experience will be invaluable, and we are delighted to add her to the board.”

Yuko Masunaga ’06 Chosen as Democracy Fellow
During this inaugural Toshizo Watanabe fellowship, Masunaga will have a chance to spend two weeks engaging in ongoing virtual and in-person gatherings related to fostering global democracy, stability, and prosperity. Masunaga also leads sustainability initiatives at the ORIX Corporation.
