The Smith College Club of Great Britain, originally founded as the Smith Club of London, has grown to have nearly 400 alumnae associated with it today. The Club’s purpose is to further the well-being of Smith College by increasing the interest of the members of the Club in Smith College. It operates exclusively for educational and charitable purposes.
The Club aims to foster a spirit of friendship among graduates and former students of Smith College; serve in extending knowledge of the aims and achievements of Smith College; promote the interest of all alumnae in the academic and extracurricular activities of Smith College; and generally promote and encourage communications between Smith College, the Alumnae Association of Smith College, and alumnae in the Club of Great Britain.
Traditional Club activities include: an annual fundraiser to provide a stipend to the Smith College Kew Gardens Interns; frequent gatherings to help alumnae network in Great Britain; provide support for Smith students studying in Great Britain; help in recruiting new students from schools in Great Britain; and additional activities held in conjunction with other alumni associations based in Great Britain.
Please note that dues and donations made to the Club are not attributed as contributions to Smith College and therefore do not count as your participation in the College’s fundraising, they do however cover the costs of our mailings and fund part of many of the events that we run during the year.
