Club Events 2021 – 22

As you will all be too aware, Covid played havoc with our lives and,  for this Club, with our program over the past year. We managed however to provide a stimulating selection of safe activities for the season as set out below.  THE 2022/23 PROGRAM WILL BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY and we look forward to  meeting up once again with fellow Club members.

In Person Meetings – 2021

On November 16th, the Club enjoyed an insider’s tour of the Bishop Museum of Science and Nature, based in Bradenton.  Bishop’s includes an-all digital planetarium and a manatee rehabilitation habitat. Great following following our November event

In-Person Meetings – 2021/2022

December 29th—Holiday Party.  CANCELLED DUE TO COVID CONCERNS.

January 20th features Luz Corcuera, from UNIDOSNow at a luncheon at Palm Aire Country Club.  We will be joined there by Wellesley and Mt Holyoke Club members.  CANCELLED DUE TO COVID CONCERNS

February 24th:  “Introduction to New College”, Florida’s Honor College,  with Declan Sheehy, Director of Philanthropy.  This will be followed by a presentation about art in public spaces in Sarasota by New College’s Professor of Art History, Katherine Brion.  We will enjoy a picnic lunch and cold refreshments at the college’s outdoor Tiki Hut which we hope will allay members’ Covid concerns.    Full event details here.

March 15th:  luncheon at Plymouth Harbor with a special guest speaker from SPARCC (Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center), Tom Foley: “Serving Women of the Sun Coast”.

April 3rd: we celebrated our annual cocktail party, kindly hosted by Lynda Doery at her home at The Savoy, Sarasota.  Full details here.  Group photo compliments of Fred Doery.

April 8th:  We attended the Wellesley Club Luncheon Program at the Sarasota Yacht Club, Friday, April 8th, 11.30 am.  Speaker: Dr. Kate McHugh, Mote Marine’s Dolphin Research Program.  Full details  here.
