In response to President McCartney’s 2016-2017 Innovation Challenge: Advancing Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity, a series of on-campus retreats to foster connections between Smith students and alumnae of color will be held during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Diverse Smithies: Connecting, Coaching, Celebrating, will be composed of three, half-day retreats designed to educate and inspire Smith students in fostering inclusive communities, acting as allies for each other, celebrating the strength of our diverse community, and learning strategies for successfully navigating racism and bias at Smith and beyond.

On-campus retreats will be held:

Saturday, September 23, 2017 – 1-5 pm 
Saturday, November 4, 2017 – 1-5 pm
Saturday, February 10, 2018 – 1-5 pm
Friday, April 13 & Saturday, April 14, 2018- Celebrating in Collaboration with Smith College Women of Color Conference: Persistence, Possibilities and the Power of our Voices

Each Saturday retreat will end with a Traditional Smith Tea for current students and alumnae of color to connect, share stories, and celebrate each other.
