Nearly 100 alumnae joined Smith faculty and other experts in Chicago for an Alumnae Association-sponsored symposium titled Graceful Transitions: Mastering Change. President Carol Christ traced the changes that have occurred in terms of women's representation in the professions and how those changes have affected the work-life balance. Suzanne Braun Levine, author of Inventing the Rest of Our Lives: Women in Second Adulthood, offered a keynote address that inspired participants to embrace the unexpected changes that often occur in life and to use those moments as opportunities to uncover your true interests and passions.
