Sail across the Baltic Sea in the tradition of Viking
mariners aboard the M.S. Le Diamant, a small ship with
an intimate, casual atmosphere. Highlighting an itinerary
that winds from the beautifully preserved, medieval
port of Bergen, Norway, to contemporary Stockholm,
Sweden, is a once-in-a-lifetime visit to Gdansk, where you'll have a
private meeting with Lech Walesa, Nobel laureate and former president
of Poland. From there, you'll explore the natural majesty of Norway's
dramatic fjords; the city of Copenhagen, one of the world's premier
design centers; and historic treasures of the resurgent Baltic nations,
featuring an architectural tour of Riga, Latvia. The trip is capped by a
special, early-entry visit to the Hermitage Museum in Peter the Great's
imperial city of St. Petersburg, Russia. A pre-program option in Stockholm
and post-program option in Bergen are also offered.
