In 2006, Smith College alumnae sailed the famed coast of Norway aboard the exquisite Midnatsol, discovering the artistic, historic, and natural treasures of this varied region. Their journey began with two days in Copenhagen, Denmarkâs harmonious capital renowned for its beautiful palaces and splendid museums. They then continued to Roskilde, where they explored the Viking Ship Museum, and to medieval Bergen, Bryggen, and Trondheim. They marveled at the Seven Sisters Waterfall, the Sunnmore Alps, the mighty Borvass Mountains, and the Engabre and Svartisen glaciers. Finally, they set sail from Honnigsvag through the reindeer-filled Arctic landscape to reach the northernmost point of Europe.
