Welcome to our website! We’ll be using it for the newsletter, information about plans for reunion and other information. We hope you’ll check it often.
Our reunion chairs have been working hard to plan a successful weekend.
Housing: We will stay in Lamont with overflow, if necessary, at Northrop or Gillett. The houses have elevators and are near each other. Our headquarters and meals will be in Lamont. The houses have single and double rooms so, when you register please specify which type of room you prefer.
Fee: The cost for the weekend, including 3 nights lodging and all meals, will be $150 per person. Husbands and children, also $150 per person, are welcome to attend.
Getting around: All on-campus transportation, including wheel chair vans, will be provided for us by Smith. Students will be available to assist you during the Alumnae Parade.
Arriving on campus: You may plan to arrive Thursday, May 24 after 4 p.m. and leave after breakfast Sunday, May 27, or any time in between. Registration will be at Lamont, not at the Alumnae House. Our student ambassadors will greet us and show us to our rooms.
Schedule: In addition to our own class plans, the College will have many interesting faculty lectures, museum tours, presentations by senior staff, student panels and assorted activities throughout the weekend.
Reunion planners: We are grateful to those who have volunteered to help with Reunion. Betsy Jones Hayes and Joanne Nelson Moyler are planning our costumes, and Nancy Knoblock Helmig will create clever signs. Mary Ribble Bugel will recruit House Reps who will encourage classmates to attend Reunion. If you are willing to be a House Rep, please call Mary at 201-891-1759.
Mini reunions: Our hope is to have some pre-reunion ’53 get-togethers. If you live in an area with a number of classmates and would be willing to organize or host one, please be in touch with Judy Kittredge.
Register for Reunion: You will receive your Reunion 2018 registration materials in late February 2018. Smith will send these both by mail and e-mail to those who have an e-mail address. Be sure yours is listed with the College.
Reunion is a wonderful time for getting to know “new” classmates and for rekindling old friendships. We hope you can be with us at Smith in May.
