Come celebrate our 55th Reunion with a new logo and a gathering (in person!) May 21-24, 2026.

As the Class of 1971, we have woven together an extraordinary tapestry of life — each of our journeys a unique thread in the fabric of our collective experience. From our very first days at Smith and through the winding of time, we have joined together friendships and families, lives and legacies. At our 55th we will celebrate and share the vibrant and varied patterns of our paths, and continue our remarkable journey together,
Our Theme: The theme of our reunion, beautifully depicted in our new logo is Weaving Lives Together. Reunion programs will build on the work of our classmate Kiki Smith, as well as College events and traditions. Kiki’s book and exhibit, Real Clothes, Real Lives, 200 Years of What Women Wore, suggested to us a look at topics including the sociology of clothing over time, the environmental impacts of fast fashion and textile waste, and the labor and ethical implications of where and how our clothing is made.
Watch for Reunion updates from our Class newslettters, emails from your House Reps and from the college.
Can’t wait to see you in May!

Calling All House Reps
Classmates, we all know a reunion is like a wedding—It’s only as good as the people who are there. Think how much more fun our 55th will be if you have your own gang of friends there to celebrate. That’s why we have our team of House Reps. Hoping to reach as many classmates as possible and pique their curiosity and enthusiasm, we’ve reinstituted the system of House Reps that worked so well for our 50th. It is not a tough job. We send you a list of your housemates and their emails. All you need to do is send messages you’ll receive directly on to them. You can also help set up zoom calls or come up with other fun ways for your housemates to connect, For everyone who has already volunteered to be a House Rep—thank you! And with Reunion coming right up, we still need House Reps for the following houses: Capen, Clark, Cushing, Haven, Hopkins, Hubbard, Lawrence, Morris, Morrow, Park, Talbot, Tenney, Washburn and Ziskind.
If you’d like step up, be a connector, and join the team please contact our 55th House Rep Coordinator, Holly Darzen.
For future class communications make sure we have your current email address. The easiest way is to verify your address on the alumnae website Alumnae Address If you do not want the college to have your email address please send an email with your address to Smith Reunion 55

Reunion Gift Update
Our House Fund Reps and Fund Co-Chairs are hard at work asking us all to stretch and give together to reach our 55th Reunion goal of $500,000. With our current Scholarship endowment of $1,000.000 covering tuition, adding this $500,000 to the current endowment will produce enough income to cover room and board as well — making it possible for another remarkable Smith student to go out and build the world we yearn to see.
As a bonus, a very generous Smith alum has put up a matching gift when we reach our first $100,000. With end of year gifts on our minds, let’s not wait to be asked! You can go to the Smith website and give. Please designate the Class of 1971 Endowment. You can also contact one of our House Fund Reps or Fund Co-chairs who would be happy to help.( See emails below). With thanks to all who have already made gifts, we’ll keep you posted as we continue to move towards our goal.
Check back next month for more information!
