Join the Smith College Club of the Peninsula!
September 2015 – August 2016

The Smith College Club of the Peninsula is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charitable organization that sponsors social, cultural, and educational programs for the 600+ alumnae living on the Peninsula and recruits prospective students through college fairs, book awards, candidate parties, high school visits, and interviews. We do not receive any funding from the College and rely 100% on members’ dues and donations to fund our activities. The Club collects annual dues at the beginning of each fiscal year.

To renew your membership or to become a member for the upcoming year, print this form and mail the completed form along with a check for your dues to the address listed. You now can fill out the membership form and pay dues online on the Club’s website too! We encourage all alumnae to join the Club and will waive membership dues for alumnae with current financial hardships.

Your contact information will be added to the membership roster shared with other Club members.  Any non-Club use of such information is prohibited.

As a member, you will receive:

  • Discounted admission to Club events, including lectures by faculty from the College
  • Monthly e-newsletters providing advance notice of upcoming Club events, Smith news, and regional alumnae events
  • Evite invitations to fun programs geared toward the varying interests of local alumnae
  • The opportunity to meet and form lifelong connections with intelligent, interesting alumnae!
  • A sense of satisfaction knowing that Club funds help Smith attract outstanding young women from the Peninsula and provide scholarship funds to enable them to attend the College

Where do dues and donations go?

Mailings, Digital Communications, and Online Payments | Dues pay for printing and postage costs for the annual print newsletter mailed to all local alumnae, as well as the fees related to our Constant Contact monthly email newsletters and PayPal online payment options on the Club’s website.

Admissions Recruiting | One of the Club’s most important roles is to keep Smith competitive and to encourage bright and talented high school students in the Bay Area to continue to apply to and attend Smith. Thirty Peninsula students are currently at Smith and 45+ alumnae helped with recruiting.

Book Awards | The Club purchases books for the annual Smith Book Awards given to outstanding young women in their junior year at Peninsula-area high schools.

Student Exam Care Packages | As a way of connecting with our current Peninsula students at Smith, the Club sends care packages to students twice a year during end of term exams.

Peninsula Scholarship Fund | Club and alumnae donations to the Smith College Club of the Peninsula Scholarship Fund provide funds to help local young women attend Smith.

Club Events | Our events provide opportunities to meet interesting alumnae of diverse ages and backgrounds.
