Recruit Students for Smith

Here are some ways that you can become involved in recruiting efforts in our area. Why not join us? It really is a lot of fun! COLLEGE FAIRS

When: September through October, March, and April

  • Talk about Smith with high school students and their parents
  • Answer and questions students/parents may have
  • Distribute literature by the college

INTERVIEWING POTENTIAL SMITH STUDENTS

When: September through February

  • Schedule interviews with prospective local students
  • Conduct 30 minute interviews with prospective students
  • Write up and interview evaluation for the admissions office

SUPPORTING CURRENT, LOCAL SMITH STUDENTS

When: Year-round Variable activities which may include:

  • Sending cards/care packages during finals periods or other times throughout the year
  • Sending birthday cards to students on her birthday
  • Plan events during January interterm or summer more geared towards current students
  • Other supportive activities to keep in touch with current students

BOOK AWARDS

When: March through May

  • Contact local guidance counselors
  • Select students to receive Book Awards
  • If possible, attend the High School’s awards ceremony
  • Send student and high school a letter of award (A student chosen to receive the Book Award receives both the book and an admissions application fee waiver)

TIME COMMITMENT

The time commitment for all of the above activities is variable and can range from two to ten or more hours a year, depending on your desired level of involvement. We would love to have you share your enthusiasm about Smith with the next generation of students!
