Smith’s unique residential system offers 36 houses in a range of architectural styles, each with its own character.
House life is an integral part of the Smith experience, and for many students, their houses are the place where lifelong friendships start. When it comes to house life at Smith, many share a sentiment similar to Carrie Stewart ’81: “I learned more about people and life than anywhere else.” And writes Kathryn Baldwin Burdett ’97, “There is nothing like the closeness of college women friends at one of the best times in life.”
Alumnae responded to an AASC Facebook query asking them to share their favorite memories about their houses on campus. Read the following comments to remember what made your Smith house feel like home.
