About

The Smith College Club of Rochester is a regional alumnae organization independent of, but affiliated with, the Alumnae Association of Smith College.

Founded in 1908, the Club currently has approximately 300 members and includes all Smith alumnae who reside in Rochester and the surrounding geographic area.

The Club provides not only opportunities for Smith College alumnae to work for the College through fundraising and recruitment activities but also many occasions for alumnae to socialize, network, and participate in lifelong learning. A sampling of popular Club activities and past events include:

  • The annual House Tour that raises as much as $11,000 each year for the Club’s Smith College Endowed Scholarship Fund;
  • An active Book Club. Professor Tom Riddell came in January 2007 to speak about a Book Club selection, Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder.;
  • Speaker Series including Professor Robert Burger who will speak about Global Warming on March 20th, 2008.
  • New Initiative: Summer on the Genesee– a fledgling project establishing Smith Internships in Rochester.

The Smith College Club of Rochester would like to extend an invitation to all area alumnae to participate in Club activities. Hope to see you soon!
