I am taking on the formidable job of Student Outreach from Kathy Caltigirone ’65. Thank you for all you fine work over the years, Kathy. This past year, a pool of 11 applicants did not yield any incoming students. The college has set up regional coordinators to work on this challenge. Ours is Nellie Beckett. She is in the midst of analyzing the data from the southeast to see if there are insights we can gain to increase the number of student applicants. She writes that the new debt-free graduation may make Smith a more appealing prospect.
Our plans are to continue to participate in any college fairs that are available in the area and to actively raise the visibilitiy of the college whenever possible. Keep you eyes open for likely candidates.
