Spring Picnic
We will meet you at Muscoot Farm (https://www.muscootfarm.org/) on May 11th at 11 AM by the concession stand.
Muscoot Farm was originally a gentleman’s farm owned by the Hopkins family and used as their summer estate and dairy farm from 1880 to 1924. In 1924 the family moved to the farm year-round and continued the dairy business until 1967 when Westchester County acquired the property. In 2016 Muscoot was re-named in memory of Alfred B. DelBello, who served as Westchester County Executive from 1974 to 1983, and who played an integral role in preserving the park as an interactive farm during his tenure.
On the Farm’s 777 acres, we can:
Visit 50+ animals by walking up to their pens. They have cows, horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, and pigs.
View historic buildings such as the milk house, the ice house, the brooder house, and the carriage house.
Hike 6+ miles of scenic trails to observe local wildlife. (https://www.alltrails.com/parks/us/new-york/muscoot-farm)
Admission to the park is free for families and individuals. Visitors may bring in food as well as visit the concession stand. Typical visits can last 1 to 2 hours. We may possibly take a portion of the group on one of the 3.5 mile trails.
This is a family-friendly space. Please feel free to bring family and friends who would like to join us.

Want to Coordinate or Host and Event?
If you have an event in mind that you’d like to coordinate or host, we would love to help you make that happen.
Here is how it works:
8 weeks before the event: Contact us (westchestersmithies@gmail.com) with your event concept, date, and basic details.
6 weeks before the event: Email us with all the details required for the invite, including title, description, date, time, RSVP information, and if appropriate, payment details, etc.
2 weeks before the event: Touch base with us about any additional needs or concerns
1 week after the event: Send us a short update on how the event went (with pictures if possible!)
