An annual tradition for over 40 years, the club has sold pecans during the fall to raise money for scholarships. Each year the profit from pecan sales is invested in the club’s scholarship fund; the annual income from which is distributed to a student from Westchester.
Traditionally, the club has been able to raise a few thousand dollars. Pecans are great for cooking, holiday gifts, and school snacks.
We need more members to sell the pecans.
Please contact Jill Berkowitz-Berliner (jillberliner@optonline.net) to find out more about selling pecans. It is only for a short period of time, usually from November to December. It is not difficult and is the only fundraiser that we have. We need more new sellers as our older members, who have been selling pecans for decades, have moved away or retired from selling. Sell them to friends, coworkers, and family during the fall and Holiday seasons.
Mammoth Halves are sold in 1-pound bags for ($16). A beautiful red 7-Way Gift Tin is ($35). The 7-Way Gift Tin contains chocolate-covered pecans, cinnamon glazed pecans, glazed pecans, pecan caramel clusters, roasted & salted pecans, roasted & salted cashews, and almonds.
The pecans ship to us shortly after harvesting. These are the freshest pecans available anywhere. The pecans currently in stores have been kept in cold storage from LAST YEAR’s crop. The fresh-crop pecans are the best pecans available for holiday baking, adding to salads, or just snacking by the handful. Extra bags can be kept in the freezer for several months so you can have plenty on hand until the 2024 crop arrives.
The pecans should arrive around the 1st week of November.
Full cases of pecans (24 bags or 6 tins) can be shipped directly to you. Pecans are 24 bags/case. Tins are 6/case. Otherwise, pick up the pecans in Mount Kisco when they arrive. The payments are then forwarded by the sellers to the Treasurer for the Scholarship fund. Payments can be via Zelle directly to the club, by check, or by cash.
