5:30 to 6:30 p.m. – Dinner for all 63ers attending Reunion at our Class Headquarters in Gillett
6:30 to bedtime: – View the class artists’ video or catch up with old friends in the Gillett livingroom OR
*8 to 8:30 p.m. – Professor Loretta Ross: Creating a Calling-In Culture at Smith. How we can improve our communications and relations at Smith through learning Calling-In techniques, rather than the anger and blaming of calling out. Seelye 201
FRIDAY, MAY 19, 2023
8 a.m. to 9 p.m. – Check-in continues at Seelye
7 to 9 a.m. – Breakfast for all 63ers at Gillett dining room
9 a.m. to noon – explore the campus, catch up with old friends
Noon to 1 p.m. – Lunch for all 63ers at Gillett
1:00 to 4:30 p.m. – Self-guided tours of the Neilson Library, the Smith College Museum of Art, and the Botanical Gardens
* 1:15 to 1:40 p.m. – Professor Hannah Karpman: LGBTQIAA*/Queer Family Formation – Where have we been and where are we going? Seelye 201
* 1:50 – 2:15 p.m. – Professor Emily Norton: Thinking through Making. Seelye 201
CLASS PROGRAM: 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. – Elizabeth Myers, Director of Special Collections, and Leslie Fields, Head of Special Collections Public Services, will talk exclusively to the class of ’63 about the history of the collection and share some of its highlights in the Neilson, south wing, Special Collections 303 classroom.
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. – Dinner for all 63ers at Gillett
After dinner – Diana Wolcott Phillips will lead a special discussion on the topic of Joy.
SATURDAY, MAY 20, 2023
8 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Check-in continues at Seelye
7 to 9 a.m. – Breakfast for all 63ers at Gillett dining room
8:45 a.m. – Line up for the Ivy Day Alumnae Parade, followed by AASC Annual Meeting. Be sure to bring your whites!
Noon to 1 p.m. – Lunch for all 63ers at Gillett
* 3 p.m. Pianist Jiayan Sun, Assistant Professor of Music celebrates Reunion with a piano program featuring Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Les Adieux” Sonata and Robert Schumann’s Carnaval. Alumnae House
CLASS PROGRAM: 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. – Faith McClellan, Dean of Career Development, will share with the career center’s current strategy for engaging students in a developmental career education process, starting from day one at Smith and continuing through the early career lifecycle. This is for 63ers. Seelye 201
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. – Dinner for all 63ers at Gillett
8:30 to 10 p.m. – Illumination Night with Japanese paper lanterns around the campus
