he past fiscal year 2009 was a good one for the club. As we get things moving again, we have had several good events and look to add to the calendar in the future. In July of 2008, Andrew Zimbaist was in town for a talk and book signing. You can see pictures of the event on the site.
In November, a group went to hear the St. Louis Symphony. Amy Kaiser, a Smith alumna and director of the chorus, hosted a pre-show talk at her home to help attendees become familiar with the program. A similar event is being discussed for the 2009 season.
In April 2009, Dr. Anne Leone ’71, Smith College Professor of French Studies and Landscape Studies, spoke to a group of Seven Sisters alumnae and their guests at the Forest Park Probstein Golf Course Clubhouse. The event included lunch and was very interesting for all who were able to attend.
On May 30th a group attended the Shakespeare Festival to see the Merry Wives of Windsor. The free event is a great resource in St. Louis and was a chance for alumnae to relax and see some wonderful theater.
In June, a group of alumnae attended an afternoon performance of St. Louis Opera Theatre.
Overall it was a good first year.
