Our beautiful logo is the creation of classmate Lisbeth Bornhofft! She wrote, “I got the idea for the interconnecting circles from a design that I happened upon coincidentally right after you asked me to do this. We had a bad flood in our basement and my art/paper storage shelves collapsed, so I had to do some emergency rescue. In the process, I discovered a painting I did sophomore year in Cushing House and it seemed an appropriate springboard for a new design. I was thinking of a tree (I love trees) with roots (Smith experiences) and lots of branches circling and spinning back on themselves (all of us and our interconnecting lives).”
