One of our classmates issued a challenge to the Class of 1958 to reach 70% participation by Friday evening of reunion weekend. Thank you, generous classmate! Our anonymous challenger promised to contribute $50,000 to the Smith Fund if we reached or surpassed 70% participation. We are delighted to report that we reached 77% participation for a total gift of $523,361. Thank you, everyone who responded. After Reunion, a classmate issued a $100,00 challenge to all alumnae, which was also reached.
We received recognition as the class with greatest percentage of members belonging to “Friends” groups of Smith College. The class officers are pictured with the prize arrangement.
